Abiding everyone and nowhere, our essential nature is pure innocence.  Despite the passing of time, we are essentially (that is, our essence) the same childlike innocence.

We grow, we accumulate experiences, we come to believe we are a body, a mind, a person who is getting older.  We identify with the emotions created from this perspective.

Yet our fundamental nature is pure potential, the excitement of a summer day for a 9 year old child – this excitement is not the excitement of youth, but the excitement of a mind that is free from conditioning.
